What better way to get into the Halloween spirit than with a film festival devoted to the gruesome and the gory, the sci-fi and the fantastical? Beginning tonight at 7 p.m. with the airing of Mulberry Street at Bloor Cinema and an opening night party at The Gladstone, the Toronto After Dark Film Festival kicks off it’s seven days of mayhem.

The second annual film fest has expanded to a total of 50 films in the genres of horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and thrillers from around the world. Last year’s fest was attended by over 4000 people and this year, the turnout is expected only to grow in size.

If you were planning to dress up as a zombie for Halloween, your costume can get twice the use this year with the Official Toronto Zombie Walk on Sunday, October 21. Beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Trinity Bellwoods Park, zombies of all ages will walk (and stagger) their way up to Bloor Street.

If you dress up as one of the gory undead, not only will you get kudos for your efforts but you’ll also get a discount on tickets to the zombie flicks at Bloor Cinema Sunday night.
